Wedding pizza vanhire costs

The short answer: wedding pizza catering starts from £12 per head, everything included, and for an evening reception of 80 to 120 guests the starting budgets sit between around £650 and £1,200. It isn't the cheap option; it's the option that puts the budget into food cooked in front of your guests rather than course choreography. Here's how the pricing works at wedding scale, and where a pizza van fits into the day.

Evening service or the main event?

The biggest fork in the budget is when we serve. An evening service feeds the party after the formal meal and soaks up the dance-floor hunger two hours into the dancing. A festival-style wedding breakfast makes the oven the main catering, with guests ordering fresh from the counter instead of sitting through plated courses. Both come from the same menu, and both are priced from the same per-pizza ladder, so the choice is about the shape of your day rather than a different price list.

Still weighing up whether pizza belongs at a wedding at all? Our guide to pizza as wedding food makes the case properly: the theatre, the dietary flexibility and how the oven fits the flow of the day.

The budget maths at wedding scale

Pizza van catering is really priced per pizza, and at wedding numbers that works in your favour: we'll usually recommend booking pizzas for fewer people than your headline guest count, because some guests won't eat, some will share and a few will come back for seconds. Across real events the reliable range is pizzas for around 75 to 90% of the guest list.

What the price includes on a wedding day

Everything you'd hope: travel, full set-up around an hour before serving, an experienced team cooking and serving throughout, plates, napkins and sauces, and the clean-up before we leave. The set-up is self-sufficient, no power or water needed, so barns, estates, marquee lawns and courtyards all work. We hold 5-star food hygiene certification and full public liability insurance, with risk assessments available for venues that ask.

Dietary requirements are part of the service, not an extra: vegan cheese is available on our vegetarian pizzas and gluten free alternatives can be provided when you book ahead. Our wedding catering service page covers the full package.

Booking a wedding date

Wedding dates go first. We'd recommend enquiring as early as you can, and certainly more than six weeks out: summer weekends fill fastest and minimum spends apply on peak summer Saturdays. A 25% deposit secures your date, and the details, timings, access and final numbers, get settled as the day approaches.

We can't thank Jacob and his family enough for catering at our wedding. It was such an easy process from the start and there was no stress at all on the day. The pizzas were delicious and our guests loved them!

Wedding cost questions, answered

How much does a pizza van cost for a wedding?

Wedding pizza catering starts from £12 per head, with travel, set-up, service and clean-up included. As a planning shape: around 50 guests starts from around £650 and 100 or more starts from around £1,200, with the per-pizza rate getting keener as numbers climb. Your date, venue distance and timings shape the final figure, so send us your details for an exact quote.

How many pizzas do I need for my event?

As a general rule, we recommend one pizza per person. However, from experience, we usually suggest booking slightly fewer pizzas than your total guest count. For example, for 170 guests we'd recommend 150 pizzas, as there are always a few who don't eat, some who share, and some who have two. We'll advise you on the right number when you get in touch.

How far in advance should I book pizza catering?

We recommend booking as early as possible, especially for weekend dates during the busy summer season. Popular dates can book up months in advance. To secure your date, we ask for a 25% non-refundable deposit.
