Nine weeks on a solar build

Proof from a real site

The Pop Up Pizza Co and Jacob have been absolutely amazing — very reliable, great communication and delicious fresh pizzas with great options. We had The Pop Up Pizza Co join us on one of our site projects over the course of 9 weeks, so we can confirm and assure everyone how reliable and consistent they are in delivering fresh, enjoyable pizzas. Jacob and his team would join us on site every week, providing hot, fresh and tasty pizzas. The staff loved them and it was a great treat for everyone — they all looked forward to it every week. The Pop Up Pizza Co make sure they are prepared and ready for the time you'd like your pizzas to start, and their set-up is safe and presentable. We would definitely use The Pop Up Pizza Co again and we'll be staying in contact with Jacob should we be able to use him again at one of our projects. We HIGHLY recommend using The Pop Up Pizza Co, whether for work staff or a private party — you won't be disappointed.

How a site pizza day works

We turn up with everything: van, gazebo and a wood-fired oven that needs nothing from your compound. We arrive about an hour before the lunch window, set up on any flat patch you can spare, and the crew orders individually with each pizza made fresh in 90 seconds at 500°C.

  • Fully self-sufficient: no water and no mains power, so a field compound is fine
  • A flat 4 by 4 metre patch plus room for the van, on hard standing or firm ground
  • One 10-inch pizza per person, made fresh to order in 90 seconds
  • Up to 80 pizzas an hour, 120 in 90 minutes with the full team
  • From £13 per head, minimum booking £400, plus VAT
  • Plates, napkins and takeaway boxes for leftovers all supplied

Same slot, every week

Weekly site runs

Solar and battery builds run for months with a crew that is miles from the nearest café. Book a recurring slot and we come back to the same compound at the same time, week after week, for as long as the job runs. One EPC kept their pizza day going for nine straight weeks, and their Google review says the crew looked forward to it every week.

We arrive prepared and ready for the time you want service to start, and if the crew pre-orders we fire, box and name every pizza so handout takes minutes.

Solar site questions

Asked by every site manager

How much does solar farm site catering cost?

£15 a head for 25 to 49 people, £14 a head for 50 to 99, and £13 a head for 100 or more, all plus VAT, with a minimum booking of £400 plus VAT. Commit to six weeks or more and the rate comes down. We price a recurring weekly slot as one quote and invoice your company or the main contractor.

Can you set up in a field compound with no facilities?

Yes, that is where most solar and battery builds are. We need a flat space of about 4 by 4 metres for the gazebo, room for the van, and ground the van can get onto, hard standing or firm grass. No water, no power, no welfare hook-up. Everything else comes with us.

What happens when the weather turns?

We cook under a gazebo, so rain does not stop service. If the site is shut for weather or the crew is stood down, tell us and we move the day rather than turn up to an empty compound.

Our numbers change week to week. How does that work?

Give us a rough headcount the day before and we bring plenty. You are charged for the number you booked, and if extra pizzas get eaten we add them to the next invoice. If not, no problem.

Can you invoice the main contractor and quote a PO number?

Yes. Every site booking gets an invoice made out to whichever company is paying, and if their finance team runs on purchase orders we add the PO number to the quote and the invoice.

How far will you travel for a weekly slot?

About an hour from Cheltenham: Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Bristol, Bath, Herefordshire and over the bridge into south Wales. Further for a long build, ask us.
