Food van hire inGloucestershire

Hiring a food van is the easiest way to cater an event in Gloucestershire: the kitchen comes to you, guests eat when they're ready, and there's no venue kitchen to book or marquee caterer to manage. We're a wood-fired pizza van based in Cheltenham, cooking across the county and a 50-mile radius beyond it, with pricing that starts from £12 per head. Here's an honest local guide to how food van hire works, whichever van you end up booking.

What kind of food van suits your event?

Gloucestershire has a healthy street food scene, and most cuisines you can name will arrive on four wheels: burgers, tacos, curries, crepes, coffee and, of course, pizza. The right choice comes down to three practical questions. Can the van feed your whole guest list at a sensible pace? Does the menu work for mixed groups, including vegetarians and guests with dietary requirements? And does it need anything from your venue?

We'd obviously say pizza, but there's a reason it's the default answer for parties: everyone recognises it, every guest can point at what they want, and a wood-fired oven cooking each pizza in 90 seconds keeps even a big queue moving. Our menu covers classics, vegetarian options and a dessert pizza, with gluten free alternatives and vegan cheese available when you book ahead.

Where we cook

We're based in Cheltenham and cover the whole county: Gloucester, Stroud, Cirencester, Tewkesbury and the villages between, plus the wider Cotswolds and a 50-mile radius that takes in Bristol, Bath, Oxford, Swindon, Wiltshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire. Travel is included in your quote, not added as a surprise later.

What food van hire costs here

For wood-fired pizza catering, pricing starts from £12 per head with travel, set-up, service and clean-up all included, and bookings start from £300. As a planning shape: a gathering of under 30 guests starts around £300, and the per-pizza rate gets keener as numbers climb. The full table by guest count is on our pricing page, and our guide to pizza van hire costs explains exactly what moves a quote up or down.

Whatever van you speak to, ask what the figure includes. Staffing, travel and serving materials are either in the price or waiting to be added to it, and the difference between two quotes is usually hiding there.

The practical bits venues ask about

A good food van should be self-contained. We don't need mains power, water or kitchen access, so gardens, courtyards, marquees, car parks, fields and venue grounds all work. We arrive around an hour before serving to set up, we hold 5-star food hygiene certification and full public liability insurance, and risk assessments are available for venues that ask. If you're unsure whether your space works, send us a photo and we'll confirm.

Organising something bigger than a party? We also cater festivals and outdoor events and run weekly pizza days for workplaces and construction sites across the county.

Food van questions, answered

What areas do you cover for pizza catering?

We cover a 50-mile radius across South West England and the Cotswolds, including Cheltenham, Gloucester, Stroud, Cirencester, Tewkesbury, Bristol, Bath, Oxford, Swindon, Bourton-on-the-Water, Wiltshire, Herefordshire, and Worcestershire. If you're unsure whether we cover your area, get in touch and we'll let you know.

How much does pizza catering cost per person?

Our pizza catering starts from £12 per head, and can be more depending on your event — guest numbers, distance, date and service length all shape the final figure. We recommend approximately one pizza per person, though for larger events we often suggest slightly fewer as not everyone eats, some share, and some have more than one. Contact us with your event details for an accurate quote.

What happens if it rains?

Our setup is weather resilient and we can operate in most conditions. We'll work with you to ensure your event goes smoothly regardless of the weather — we're a British business, rain doesn't scare us.

Can you set up anywhere?

Our mobile setup is highly flexible — gardens, courtyards, marquees, car parks, fields and venue grounds are all fine. We don't need mains electricity for the oven itself. If you're unsure about access or space, send us a photo and we'll confirm.
